John's second letter was written a "chosen lady" whose identity is not certain. He urges her and her children to continue in the truth and reminds them to love one another. One may know what to do, in this case love one another, but must be reminded to demonstrate it. He also warned that many deceivers, who were against Christ, or anti-Christ, were in the world but holding to Jesus and abiding in His word would prevent them from being led away by their errors.
