Studying the Bible -- What is the Book of Hebrews About?

The book of Hebrews explores the superiority of the New Covenant ushered in by Jesus over the Old Law of Moses. The Hebrew writer, who is not named, demonstrates the superiority of Jesus' priesthood, sacrifice, and covenant to invite the Jewish audience to leave behind the Old Law and embrace its logical successor, the gospel. The book of Hebrews' most popular chapter, chapter 11, describes faith as evidenced in the lives of Old Testament characters. It ends with the exhortation to quit focusing on earthly Jerusalem and embrace the heavenly Jerusalem.
